Busy finding deals around town to share with everyone. Coupons are not enough now in days and getting heads-up on the Black Friday Sales would be great. Its crunch time and every penny saved can be stretched. Keeping fingers crossed in hopes to find all the best deal.. :) Continue
When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of becoming a mother someday - one that stayed home and raised the children. I wanted 2 kids since I am an only child. Both of those things have come true, so why doesn't it feel wonderful 100% of the time?

Somebody Roll out the Pink Carpet!
It seems as if I just went on a Sassy Socializing World Tour! I first hit up SITScation in Las Vegas, which I already boasted about in another post. Then 4 days after that I attended the Internet Mommy book launch party in Santa Monica. Kimberley Blaine, The Go To Mom held her event at the Fairmont and it was Fabulous! I arrived early (I have a habit of that) and so I was one of the first to talk to Kimberley about her new book, which is a collaboration of suc… Continue

After my brush with pagan paranoia and subsequent realization that when it comes to drinking the clear waters of meditation I am the cloudy cup, my search for a spiritual place to support my family lead me right to a pl… Continue
I have a new post up at Mommy Lite:
"The Booty Trap"
My toilet seat is booby trapped.
There have been clues all along, but I just put two and two together.
Every time I sit down on the toilet my kids are alerted and suddenly I am bombarded with children banging on the door, barging in and shouting "Mommy, I need you." "Mom, where are you?" and "MOOOOOOOOM! Do you know what Ben did?" Seriously. It’s an ambush.
They could have been playing in their rooms, quiet and content for hours. They cou… Continue

My boyfriend and I were in line at Starbucks the other day waiting to order coffee.
"What's that?" he says pointing to the spare tire flesh that has accidentally become exposed above the top of my jeans.
"My fat." I said
"No, on your fat." He smiled. It's a good thing I love him. "You have a bruise. Right there." He pointed to an area on my hip.
I looked down, kind of lifting the flab o' meat (as I like to call it) a little so I could see the hip hidden beneath.
Sure enough, it was a bruise… Continue

You can view more of the Mommy War Tug of War blog post here
It feels like i am in the middle of a tug of war with myself. Should i continue to be a SAHM, or go ahead and go to Medschool and be the doctor i want to be? Somedays i am 100% that is what i want, because it is. Then i get smacked across the face with guilt. I shouldn't be going to medschool or be a doctor, my kids need me. w… Continue

This post could very well get me unfollowed on Twitter. Mommy bloggers all over are going to read this (this assumes, of course, that I have that many readers) and say "See? It's women like that who don't deserve a child." Look, I'm just one of those women who knows her limitations. I have one very awesome daughter and absolutely no wish to roll that particular set of dice again. Nope. I know when to fold and walk away from the table. And don't ask me about these gambling metaphors either. Obvio… Continue

Back in the early 1980s when I was a new Mom, Farrah Fawcett hair was all the rage! All my friends wanted to look like her, and we drove our hair stylists crazy! For a short while I had that “Farrah” look, feathered and highlights - rather than “mommy hair” - where I cut it short because it was so much easier! (Read More)Continue

I am in my seventh month of writing my Blog and similar to Julie Powell, in the movie Julie and Julia, I am trapped in a sea of passion and insecurities as I try to ascertain my purpose and direction.
In all of this self-analysis I have deduced that my writing has become a reflection of my spiritual journey as a wife and a mother. It has helped me to live in the present more completely and spiritually then ever before. Every nuance, every impressionable expression, every tribute to life, is div… Continue
As a multi-generational blogger, I hang with many different folks, both my age, and those who are probably the same age as my daughters. I hold many interests - remember, I’m the “reference librarian“ wannabe - and enjoy discussing different topics - food, crafts, fashion, kids, lifestyle, travel. You know, ‘different strokes for different folks.’ That sort of thing
This whole mommy blogger thing is just too much and getting on my nerves. Since I’m a Baby Boomer, I’m way too savvy for drama, an… Continue
A question asked by my 6 year old. I then replied "Well honey, that depends. What does it mean to be rich?" She then said, "to have lots of money".
Financial challenges surround all of us and these past 2 years really made me appreciate the things that matter most in life so with that I was able to share with my little one that "being rich" is about having family & friends and a life filled with faith, hope & love. I then explained further by giving her examples.
The best part of this… Continue

I stomped my feet like a child yesterday. And I yelled.

How embarrassing.
I just couldn’t take it. No one in my family was LISTENING to me.

1. Igottagrabititis:: a serious condition in which a toddler or a teen is afflicted with a sudden desire to fill a shopping cart with every whim their heart desires. EX.My teenager struggled back with $350 worth of clothes, though she only had a $50 gift card. Clearly, she was in the throes of igottagrabititis.
2. shabwow: the ratty, disreputable all-purpose wipe cloth with which spills are cleaned, mouths wiped and glasses coastered. EX: "Honey, can you grab the shabwow by the sink? The baby t… Continue

1) I'm angry with love bugs - they get more action than I do lately and they feel the need to do it on me, near me, or around me. Little basards!
2) My daughters naptime is something I secretly hope for every morning when I open my eyes.
3) My husbands breathing pisses me off.
4) Randomly I want to rip off someones face, sometimes they're loved ones, other times strangers, I don't discriminate.
5) I'm forgetful, weepy, pissed, irrational, emotional, and feel as though being in a coma might n… Continue
So lucky to be invited to this event on Wednesday night! I was so tired in the late afternoon and sooooo tempted to bail and curl up on the couch with a cup of tea. I can't tell you how happy I am that I powered through the nasty traffic and torrential downpouring rain to go! Here's a video of the swag from the tweetup and of course of my "crowned" toes (my daughter was so jealous).
