Okay now that ,that is out of the way. I want to blog about "Dreams and what do they mean". Everyone has their methods on how to figure them out and all. I also do. I have been a person for years that people come to that I know of course and ask me what did it mean . Well I get really vivid dreams about things. I had one once that was about my mother. That one for some reason ,I couldn't remember for the life of me what it was about. I do know one thing from that is I woke up crying and calling…

After the pregnancy test is bought and your dreams have been confirmed, you are on cloud 9. For most of us, the trip begins. You think the final destination is the delivery room. What you forget to remember is that room is just a rest stop on your trip. With every trip, you'll experience ups and downs. You'll be trading your little wallet sized clutch in for an oversized bag that weighs as much as a baby. Cocktail parties will be upgraded with balloons, clowns and lots of little screaming people…

I'm a stay at home married mother we are currently expecting a baby girl. My son was born at 29 weeks 2 lbs 15 oz and 15 3/4 in almost 4 years ago. Since then I have been a stay at home mom.My dream has always been to be able to stay at home with my children. Being in a one income family is pretty hard and I wanted to find something that I could do to help bring more money in without having to leave my home and/or put my kids in daycare. I came across a home-based opportunity with no large inves…

Last month, a colleague approached me about exploring the role of acupuncture in weight loss. As a traditional Western medicine physician, I was skeptical about its merits. While many of my patients have used herbs and other holistic treatments, I have never been a believer. But, since I am willing to do anything to help my patients, I decided to use myself as a guinea pig to see if acupuncture was something I should be recommending.
First, I did some research. I wanted to know the science behi…

Our worst fears have finally come true. Overweight teens are dying from heart disease. Pediatricians have long feared that the rising number of severely obese children and teens would soon start to suffer from adult complications of obesity, like heart attacks, strokes, and death. And now it is happening.
According to the St. Louis County medical examiner, a 13-year old football player who collapsed during football practice died as a direct result of “hypertensive cardiovascular disease”, also…

A healthy, well-stocked kitchen can be a recipe for success if you equip yourself with a master grocery list! Certain items for the freezer, fridge and pantry are all necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Here is a list of my favorite kitchen staples that no kitchen should be without.
Freezer Ready
Frozen bags of fruits and vegetables are frozen at the peak of freshness to provide the optimal amount of nutrients your body needs. Make sure you buy the items with no added salt, sugars or sa…

I am not a religious person. In fact, I’m not sure I even believe in god. Growing up, my religious education was diverse, to say the least: Native American ceremonies with my dad, singing in the Episcopal church choir with one friend, celebrating Passover with another. As an adult, I learned a…

A lot of people have sent me messages and emails with questions about Renegade Professional. Some of the questions are also about the new Professionals, Businesses and Non-Profits (PBN) area of Renegade Professional as well. Lately, I haven't had very much time to answer them all individually, so I decided to post your Frequently Asked Questions right here.
Q. I am starting to hear a lot about PBN on sites like Better Networker. What exactly is it? I am not a member of Renegad…

OctoMom has 14 kids. I have three. Yet those three—plus the demands of life, work and marriage—may be making me just as crazy. Not insane enough to have another brood of babies, mind you. (Although once you have three, what’s another 11 more?) But crazy enough to:
1. Seriously consider jumpin…

Please know that I do not disapprove of your intent to marry my daughter. I am proud of you for serving your country and for working to find your place in this world. I am proud of you for coming to us to ask for her hand in marriage before discussing it with her.
I am happy that she is happy with you. I only hope that you have been contemplating this decision carefully. You are both so young, she just graduating from high school and you only a year earlier. You have had a small chance to trave…

Remember when your mom used to get that look in her eye like a fortune teller with a chip on her shoulder and say, “One of these days, you’re going to have a kid JUST LIKE YOU!”? I believed she could make it happen because my mom...

My mum arrived exactly a week ago and as always the rollercoaster has had as many highs as lows in the last 7 days and 5h09 min... I love her more than anything and she truly is my best friend. I have always had that sort of amazing relationship with her. The sort of relationship most my friends envied with passion. She is my confident and the shoulder to cry on, even miles away. We have always been able to tell her everything, I mean EVERYTHING. She knew all our little secrets as well as my fri…

The last trip my husband and I took was a few months ago, when we traveled a whole 20 miles from our home to hole up in a hotel and—insert naughty thoughts here—sleep. (We have three kids, what can I say?) By virtue of our low mileage, and our destination’s tentative steps towards sust…

According to Wikipedia "an entrepreneur is a person who has possession of an enterprise or venture, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome. It is an ambitious leader who combines land, labor, and capital to create and market new goods or services." Sounds serious we know. For all intensive purposes we'd like to throw out our own definition of an entrepreneur: a mom who follows her passion by implementing and executing a kick-ass idea to make it a reality. N…

Welcome to Autumn! Yep, old lore has it that 1st of August is actually the first of autumn. And the 1st of August is also the pagan festival of Lughnasa which is the first harvest festival, celebrating the end of the growing season.
But we are clearly not ready for autumn yet. The kids still have another month off school and we still have hope in our hearts that the sun will return during this month to allow us some more time to dine in the garden and bathe our bones in the heat.
However, as w…

There are roughly 82.5 million mothers in the US alone*. Of that figure, 10.4 million of them are single moms. I have read your stories of lives filled with financial struggles, fear and pain and am so overjoyed to read that many of you now feel free, happy and ready to begin anew. One particular member of the Butterfly "Single Moms Club" is the first ever Plus Sized Super Model- Emme.
You may have caught her show this past Tuesday night on Fox called "More to Love". Emme is the host of this ne…
