I’m never quite sure what to do about Father’s Day. Is it a time when daddy-o is supposed to spend the whole day bonding with his kid crew, or is it a day he should get a break from them?
After pondering the question for about five seconds, I decided to go with the bonding. Fact is, he spends a lot of time at work so doesn’t exactly need a ‘break’ from the kids. As such, I lined up a few dad and kid activities for the morning.
Breakfast in bed was not on the agenda, so the first activity was t…

First off, I'd like to wish all of you a happy Mother's Day. My day was great! I got to sleep in a bit, we had pancakes and eggs for breakfast, and I got a nice card from the kids and Tad. They also got me some beautiful white roses, my favorite. I just feel so lucky to have such a great family, my husband is so awesome and my kids are the greatest! I love to watch them grow everyday, and to see their wonderful personalities. Tate is such a ham, and Taylor is a little stink pie. They both do the…

Your Angel Awaits You (author unknown)
A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"
"Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you." The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."
God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."
Again the child a…

It seems fitting that my first blog for Twittermoms is about Mother's Day. I've been busy writing, and lately it's been about Mother's Day. It's a day of both remembrance and celebration for me. My husband and son usually make a fuss over me (I'm not complaining. It's nice to be Queen for the day.) The other part of the day is remembrance of my mom who died 13 years ago.
Those first Mother's Day holidays without my mom were difficult. How do you cope with the onslaught of Mother's Day commercia…

I openly admit that I have repeatedly taken the easy way out on Mother’s Day and just bought flowers and a card. I will also admit that I would be disappointed, to say the least, if my husband or my children (when they are grown) did the same thing for me. Flowers and cards are a nice gesture, but they really fall short of showing moms how much they truly mean to us.…

Environmentally friendly gifts are all the rage these days, but with the economy still dipping, you can still show Mom how thankful you are. Here are a few ideas that will let Mom know you not only adore her, but Mother Earth as well.
First and foremost, keep in mind what Mom’s hobbies are. Does she like to curl up with a good book? Purchasing books from a second-hand book store is not only a financially great idea, but applies the reusing thought process. Like Netflix’s movie rental offer of f…

What do duct tape, McDonalds and sweat bands have to do with Mother's Day? Well, they're all things on my list of
Gifts to Avoid this Mother's Day. Are there things you dread you'll see?
Check out my list and add to it. Maybe there's something I haven't thought of telling my dear hubby to NOT buy me.
