April Welch Back to school tips...

Yes, it is that time of year again, when we begin counting down the remaining care-free days left before the kids head back to school. Of course, this would require that we all survived the summer in one piece :o) All joking aside, I read a tip from the "Real Simple" folks that got me thinking. They suggested putting a kid friendly CD on in the morning & telling the kiddos 'that they needed to be done eating by track 4', without buying the required the CD {yes, marketing at i… Continue

Jillian Livingston Do You Feel Like a Camp Counselor?

These past few days in Colorado have been magnificent. On crisp bluebird days like these I always feel like I should be sailing. Even Tucker comments on how the air and the music make him feel like sailing. When I was little my parents would take my sister’s and I on summer adventures which included a few sailing trips. Lynne Kenney Summer is here...are you pulling your hair out yet? Do as the schools do and set-up a 9-12 schedule

Okay, it's summer, my house is a reck 'cause I have four or more kids playing here everyday. Today I found my 10 year old's saddle in my bathroom! Smiling. Me,"Olivia, why is your saddle blocking the bathtub?" Olivia, "We're playing barn, Mom." So this is my plan, 9am-12pm any kid in my house under age 6 is on a schedule. LOL. No really, if you have little one's consider setting up a schedule of events. Write it up on a marker board. Let the children help with the planning. I call it MY… Continue
