What is self-esteem, self-image and self-concept?
Self-esteem is the feelings we have about ourselves.
Self-image is the picture we have of ourselves in our mind.
Self-concept is what we think about ourselves.
The way to improve our success in life is to improve our thoughts, image and feelings. As adults, we have the power to affect those children’s self-esteem, self-image and self-concept.
Yesterday morning when I was in bed, I heard a mother screaming at her child, “You split milk all over…

Here is a short fun list of ideas to get your partner thinking you're the bees knees [:)]
1. Spend a little time each day asking him about himself. Favourite books as a child, who he admires, his hopes and dreams, what would he change if he ran the country, and so on. It may take a while to get him sharing these thoughts seriously at first ,but gradually he should open up more and more as he trusts your motives and gets used to talking about things he cares about. This is not an interrogation.…

Somehow, you feel so powerless and hopeless about them that your whole life is affected. There simply is NO way forward... is there?
Here are some tried and trusted ideas that have proved successful in my life and that you might like to try out for yourself:

How much of my life has been blighted by feelings of inferiority. I am not alone.
One could make a good argument to support the assertion that the vast majority of humanity is similarly afflicted.
We don't all feel inferiority the same way and to the same degree, but there are certain symptoms which could indicate that someone is a fellow sufferer:
Do you look at a maths problem and find that your mind has gone blindingly, panic-strickenly blank?
Do you continually have to tell others wha…

In their book, Raising Resilient Children, Robert Brooks and Sam Goldstein write about what makes children resilient. According to Brooks and Goldstein, resilient children have a unique mindset, one characterized by secure self-esteem, empathy, and hopefulness. Similarly, Martin Seligman in The Optimistic Child writes about inherent styles of thinking and how you can help your child develop more resilient and optimistic thoughts. These books surely belong in your library, if not at your b…

Wow, first I owe everyone a huge apology for being out of touch for so long. I recently joined Carrie Wilkerson's Barefoot Mastermind group, and it has inspired so many exciting ideas and changes in my business, that both me, and my assistant/business manager, have been bouncing off the walls. It's just been crazy-busy. But I am loving it!
If you've ever worked with a mentor, coach, or mastermind group you know the value in it. Not only do you get to meet, and hang out with, an incredible group…

The other day, I was reflecting on my week (as I usually do) and I got a little nervous. I asked my husband am I becoming boring? Confused with my question and concerned where this is leading he asked, “Huh”? I repeated the question. I told him I was concerned that I am no longer the fun and spontaneous women anymore and that is a problem for me. He reassured me that I wasn’t boring, but I’m not has crazy and spontaneous as I used to be. Now I’m really concerned.
I remember prior to being engag…

10 Tips to Raise Your Confidence Level
1. Act with Integrity - Strive to always do the right
thing, not the easy thing. Try to make right decisions and
take right actions from the very beginning. But if you make
a mistake, and we all do, admit it, apologize if necessary,
learn from it and allow yourself to move on. By acting
with integrity you strengthen your reputation with yourself
and others. This allows them to respect you, and enables
you to deepen your respect for yourself.
2. Polish and…

Busy times around here this week. Many hours spent on the phone with my eldest, who is having major relational crisis with her (live-in) boyfriend. They're working it out. Meantime, she's passed her professional licensing exams, and will be a practicing massage therapist in the new year. YAY!
My youngest has decided to
forego fashion for warmth -- a development I was fearing would only happe…
