I have determined that son-in-laws are sneaky. First they sneak into your life by stealing your daughter's heart. Then the same sneaky scoundrel sneaks into your home by marrying your daughter. He further encroachs into your life by sneaking various assundry traits and characteristics into your grandchildren, so that everytime you look at them you have to see a part of him. He even managed to sneak into my finances a few times with bills that needed to be paid, or by nickle and diming for a cand…

Most of you know that I recently included a free coaching group in my coaching business as a way to give back a bit. So I was very honored to "meet" a wonderful woman, named
Dana Neal, today who feels as strongly about giving back, and promoting others, as I do.
I was pleasantly surprised when I came in from my Toastmasters meeting tonight, settled in to listen to Jennifer Haubein's UStream show and check my e-mail, and discovered that Dana had…

Are Your Closets Clean? Are your files filed? Is your book written? Is your checkbook balanced?
For the most part we as women tend to be action takers. We have to be with all we have to do. Work, house keeping, laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, car pooling, mothering, lovin' up hubby, and hopefully squeezing in some "me" time for working out and pampering. We couldn't do it all if we weren't action takers by nature.
But have you found that there are some things that always seem to get put on…

Had a great interview call with Dr. Susan Biali Tuesday evening for our Women of Confidence Women's Wellness Tele-summit. She spoke on the topic
The Confidence of Living your dreams. She has an amazing story. She was a depressed and unhappy medical resident when she decided to take some huges steps to change it all, and is now living the joy-filled life of her dreams as a result. You can check out the replay for the call at…

I have been pushing through and working for the past two weeks - continuing to do my Women of Confidence Wellness Tele-summit interviews on Tuesday evenings, doing the Write Your Book in a Weekend weekend last week with Donna Kozik and the Barefoot Mastermind crew, doing my individual and group coaching and to everyone out there things have probably looked pretty normal from this end.
But for the past two weeks I have been dealing with a severe allergic reaction to something. Possibly a chemica…

Wow, what a push! I shared before that this past week I made the decision to participate in Donna Kozik's Write a Book in a Weekend class with our Barefoot Mastermind group.
Okay, first I have to admit that it took me a weekend and a day. It happened to be a weekend when we had guests for every meal, so I was stopping to prepare food for 6 or 7 people at each meal. Now that, in and of itself, doesn't sound like that big a deal, but we have 3 guys who are big eaters, my 10 year old grandson who…

Last night we, me and the Barefoot Mastermind group, started Donna Kozik's Write Your Book in a Weekend workshop. It started with a motivating kick-off call with Donna yesterday evening, and then I spent some time last night researching quotes I want to use. Now I'm waiting further instructions from Donna so I can really delve in and begin writing! But I have my 'puter, paper, pens, research materials, ice water, tea and choclate lined up and ready to go, LOL! It should prove to be an adventurou…

Recently I attempted something new. Something I not only had never done before, but also that I was very unsure about. To be honest, it went much further than simply being unsure. I was down-right terrified of stepping out of my comfort zone and taking this particular risk. If I failed it was going to be in front of a lot of people. And what would they think of me then?
What do we do when we start to doubt ourselves? We begin to question ourselves. Honestly, that's not always a bad thing. It ca…

Wow, first I owe everyone a huge apology for being out of touch for so long. I recently joined Carrie Wilkerson's Barefoot Mastermind group, and it has inspired so many exciting ideas and changes in my business, that both me, and my assistant/business manager, have been bouncing off the walls. It's just been crazy-busy. But I am loving it!
If you've ever worked with a mentor, coach, or mastermind group you know the value in it. Not only do you get to meet, and hang out with, an incredible group…

Designing Your Ideal Life ~ Principle two:
Don't get side-tracked
After deciding what your top priorities are, you want to
focus on them in a way that won't allow you to get
side-tracked. Find a way to remind yourself daily what your
focus is and what you need to be doing on any given day in
order to realize your long-term life goals. In order to
design a life that YOU love.
Face it, in today's fast-paced society it's easy to get
overwhelmed by all there is to do. That overwhelm…

Designing Your Ideal Life Part 1 or How Do You Do It All?
How do you do it all? Recently someone asked me that exact
question. How do you do it all? I'm a WAHHM - a
work-at-home-homeschool-mom. Over the past 10 years I've
completed my business degree, spent two years working as
administrative assistant for our local non-profit domestic
violence shelter,
made the decision to remove my, then six year old, son from
public school in order to teach him myself from home,
recovered from a broke…

Good Afternoon Fellow Twittermoms!
This oh-so-important issue was brought to my attention recently via Twitter and I feel it's a topic worth sharing on.
The Speacial Olympics Winter Games Competition is about to get underway this week in Galena, IL at Chestnut Mountain. Each year, for the past two decades, Illinois Special Olympics has held their State Speed and Figure Skating Competitions in Dubuque, Iowa with the other winter games being held in Galena.
This year there was a scheduling snaf…

Important -vs- Urgent
Do you know the difference between Important and Urgent? Important things are the actions and goals that are in-line with our highest life priorities. Urgent things are all those little obstacles that pop up to distract us from the important things: a ringing telephone (who else feels absolutely compelled to stop whatever you are doing and answer the phone when it rings, or at least run and check the caller ID to see who's calling?), the sink full of dirty dishes or…

We have all wished for more hours in a day, believing that this extra time would relieve the stress of all the things we never seem to get done - the Spring cleaning that should have been done six months ago, when it was actually Spring, the remodeling projects that keep getting put off, the stack of books we intend to read - someday, the friends and family we keep meaning to visit and connect with, but somehow never get around to actually seeing.
Parkinson's Principle states "Work expands to f…

My Weight Loss Journey - Insanity or Humility?
On December 17, 2008 I made the decision to begin a body
transformation journey to release the 100+ pounds that I
gained after a serious back injury several years ago. Now,
making a decision to lose weight is not that big a deal.
People do it everyday. And with the new year fast
approaching many people will make that same decision. It's
how I've chosen to approach the process that is different.
I know that I am the type of person who needs…
