This site is 15 days old. Head is spinning. Started as a place to help moms on twitter find each other. Now gets a new member every 10 minutes. Who knew?
Not only are moms joining at a pace I'm struggling to keep up with, they are apparently liking what this place has to offer. My husband introduced me Quantcast, which measures audiences around the web, and according to them 39% of the visitors to this site are characterized as "addicts". You see that notion all the time in the "you're so popular" RSS feed on the right side of the site (it tracks tweets that include the word twittermoms).

Is an addictive site a good thing? Not sure I want to know the answer to that! But it makes me feel like the community we've got growing here is one that is healthy, fun, and energizing for everyone who jumped in head first. I hope that's your experience. The chart says that 47% of our members are characterized as "regulars" by Quantcast. Seems so much more dignified than "addicts"!
Anyway, I'm glad we seem to have struck a chord with all of this. The only person to thank is you. You keep the site interesting, welcoming, spam-free, supportive, and warm. I'm sure there will be growing pains and I never set out to become a "community moderator" as my husband now jokes, but it's been fun to experience the first-hand joy moms get by creating new, interesting connections with one another around their shared interests -- whatever they may be.
Thank you for joining and making this a great place. Send me any suggestions or questions by direct message via twitter, comment below, or send me a message through the site. I'll do my best to figure out how to create a more formal suggestion box. Let's see where we can go with all of this!
PS: A special thanks to the
18 AWESOME MOMS who signed up to help me make new members feel welcome while I tend to diapers, drop-offs, pickups, lunchtime, etc. You are special people. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
