Hello Twittermoms! I want to share with you information about My Charity
called... Energy Rescue, Inc.
Energy Rescue, Inc. is a (501c3) Non-Profit Organization
born on April 22, 2008 … Earth Day!
What a great day to celebrate the Earth and support our daily efforts
to “GO GREEN” and Help Our Communities!
Energy Rescue, Inc., - Our main goal is to keep utilities on in households throughout our community. The number of people in need of help with their utility bills is staggering and children are suffering.
We will help people with shut-offs and disconnect notices from the utility company's like O.P.P.D. and M.U.D. In the rural areas we want to help those families as well with their utilities, propane, kerosene & water, to ensure people don't suffer without life's basics. Energy Rescue, Inc. will be a resource that will help with deposits, re-connects and Energy Counseling, so people will change their situation to become Self-Reliant in an Energy Efficient Home that will keep their families safe and warm.
Yes, there are other companies around town that try to help with Energy Assistance like Salvation Army and Together, Inc. The Problem is, these agencies run out of funds by
the 2nd week of the month. So, if you are in need in the middle of the month, there
are no other resources that I have found to help people in Energy Crisis.
I have walked in these shoes and it is very difficult to find help with utilities in Omaha.
Energy Rescue, Inc. will be able to pick up the slack. The people turned away by the Salvation Army alone, is enough to keep us busy helping the people they can’t. Churches who donate to help turn back on utilities for their members can also benefit by becoming
a member of Energy Rescue, Inc. We help their church family restore their services and allow the Church Funds to minister to other areas of need.
The other aspect of Energy Rescue, Inc. will be doing our part to educate people about "GREEN ENERGY". We will partner with home builders and environmental specialist to help us show the public how to have and maintain a “GREEN HOME".
We want to form partnerships with positive organizations like Mortgage Pledge.

Mortgage Pledge is a sustainable giving campaign based on the cooperation between real estate professionals, non-profit organizations, and homeowners. Real estate professionals in the Mortgage Pledge network enhance their businesses and communities… touching the lives of so many people.”
Energy Rescue, Inc. is one of the Charities working with Mortgage Pledge.
It is a brilliant concept! I am very proud to be a part of their program.
We will educate people about the great potential of Solar, Wind and Geothermal Energy, which is our future. You don't have to be rich to have a more efficient home.
You just need to know what it takes to have one.
Energy Rescue, Inc. will advocate on behalf of tenants whose Landlords are not making repairs or proper repairs.

We need Donations and Sponsors to help prepare for the Winter Season that is coming.
Every year in Nebraska, for instance, a front page story tells us of a family shut off from
The Electric Company - whose house burnt down and lives were lost as they tried to heat their home with the oven or candles or dangerous space heaters.
I started this Charitable Organization so no family has to be that Desperate for heat. Desperation makes people act and do things that they normally would not do.
This causes so much stress and tension in a home and children suffer.
This is America. Our families should live with life's basics.
Energy Rescue, Inc. is here to see that they do.
Another reason why I started this organization is to improve the Image of the Utility Companies and their customers. We need to open the lines of communication and work with people so they can get caught up and become Self-Reliant so they may take care of their families once again.
I walked in these very shoes last year. At that time my only income was Child Support and that was $330.00 a month. That was my budget with my baby and my two sons. We were left abandoned and without running water and gas for 3 months in a row.
I tried to find help and it was so hard to find. The utility company would not work with my budget and restore my services. At one point I borrowed $400.00 and they accepted it turned it back on and a week later shut it off again because they demanded another payment. It was a horrible, hopeless feeling.
We survived by getting drinking water delivered to our home by IDEAL WATER of Omaha. They were instrumental in helping me make warm bottles of formula for my baby. They brought us the cooler that has the hot and cold water spout. That was one of our life savers. We could not drink the water from the hose.
My neighbor next to my home and was kind enough to let me fill the bathtub with water twice a day so I could wash dishes in hot soapy water with bleach added, mop the floors, clean up and give my sons hot bubble baths. I would make 10 trips from the bathtub to the kitchen stove - with my biggest pot and boil the water on my electric stove until I had enough heated up to give my sons their hot bubble baths.
All I could think of at this time was how in the world did Lora Ingles and her family do it? I am glad I watched The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie growing up. (big smile)
That was back breaking work but worth all the effort to see the smiles on my squeaky clean son's beautiful faces. They knew momma was doing her best. I love them so much for that.
I promised my sons - When I get back on my feet I will start a charity to help people who are walking in our shoes and give them a way out. And here we are today.
My prayer is that we prepare to have help in our communities for our families.
