Ever worked with someone with a losing attitude? I have. Everything she put her hand to, she complained about, declared it a failure even before the deed was done.
Some may have called her a realist. In my mind, I called her a loser.
Having a losing attitude is a character flaw, but not one you can't overcome.
2 Ways to battle a losing attitude
1. Make a list of things that went right on your job (or in your life)
2. Make of a list of the things you've done right (or do routinely well)
Now have someone else that you've worked closely with (or knows you well) do steps 1 and 2 with you in mind. Compare the lists. Are you as much of a loser as you think you are? Probably not. If others are telling you that you're a winner, then you probably are. Remember, real winners lose sometimes.
What's your plan for success today? Does it include failure? It should.
