5 Steps To A Profitable Blog

There are five things you need to do each time you are trying to create a profitable blog.

1. Find a good niche.
2. Set the blog up properly.
3. Post properly.
4. Do what's necessary to generate traffic.
5. Test and tweak constantly.

Finding A Good Niche

Finding a good niche could be a total report unto itself. The main thing is to do good keyword research and come up with a topic where you have the potential to rank for the terms that you are going to target.
First if this is your first niche and you are planning to create your content your self pick a topic that resonates with you.
You don't need to be an expert but you do need to have a desire to learn more about the topic.
For monetization basis I look for the following.
1. Minimum of 3 products for my keywords
2. Preferably at least 8 adwords advertisers
3. Keywords with at least 40 searches a day
4. Maximum of 50,000 competing sites for the term in quotes.
These are just ball park figures but usually will keep you from spinning your wheels where this is no money or it will be impossible for you to generate traffic easily from the search engines.
