twitter moms: the influential moms network

Your new textbox

It happens to the best of us. We know we need to write a blog post. It's been over a week. And though somehow topics for blog posts seem to run rampant in our heads during the most inopportune times (changing diapers, in the shower, during a game of catch), when we sit down to write, somehow they've all disappeared. It's called Blogger's Block. :)

If this happens to you, I've got a few idea starters to get you going on a blog post ... at least until the next one rolls around.

1) Offer your take on the hot news of the day.
2) Take a quick glance through some of your new email newsletters for ideas.
3) Interview an interesting person who relates to your blog topic and post their profile. In fact, send them a list of questions and post as is. No work, and they're likely to share your post with all of their contacts.
4) A top 5 or 10 list.
5) What do you love/hate about something?
6) Comment on someone else's blog post. They'll love the link you give them, too!
7) Invite someone to be a guest blogger. Again, you're exposing yourself to a whole new crowd. Always a good thing!
8) Write a poll and invite people to weigh in.
9) Provide an update on something you blogged about in the past.
10) Turn advice or an explanation you gave a client/colleague recently into a post.

What other inspiration do you use when you get stuck writing a blog post? What other idea starters do you suggest? Let's get a great list going here!

Thanks, I love these ideas, and even though I have not yet started my blog, I will be using these ideas once I do.

I got a really good idea from a twitter mom I have to share. I called the post "What is the best thing that happened to you today" and it has gotten quite a bit of hits. Sometimes on Twitter, it is a question I throw out there to see what kinds of responses I get from people. Its feel good stuff. I would love to know what you think about it.

Linda, I always carry a Flip Video camera with me and do the same. It's so easy to upload and add to Facebook or your blog or Twitter.

My daughter takes videos of events her kids are in with her camera and posts them in her blogs. It's an easy way to share music, dance, and fun events in life. I work with kids and music and I want to do more of that.
