twitter moms: the influential moms network

I'd like to share a story with you:

There once was a popular high school teacher. She had a Facebook account that she used for her private social life. Recently, she has been "friended" by several of her teenage students. By "friending" they've made their Facebook pages available to her for viewing. As a consequence, she has seen and read more than she cares to know about their social lives. Some of which involves under-age drinking and drug use...even references to cheating at school or other school-related "pranks".
Does She Have an Obligation to Tell?

Should she report any of this information to the school, the kid's parents or the police? I'm sure her school does not have a policy regarding this subject. What should she do? Would you want your kid's teacher to tell you about information they gleaned from your child's Facebook page? Last year,a state legislator sponsored a bill in the Missouri House of Representatives that would ban elementary school teachers from having social-networking friendships with their students.
What is the Social Networking Etiquette When It Crosses Age Barriers?

I do not have answers on this one. As a community of parents (and tech-savvy parents) I DO think we should start the discussion around these issues. Don't You?
