Family Friendly Jury Duty, Make a DIFFERENCE!
Hello Everyone!
I was called to serve: Jury Duty!
They requested that I arrive at the courthouse at 7:30am.The courthouse is 1 hour away from my house. As a single mom of a 13 and 8 years old, with no family in town, what I was supposed to do with my kids?? I decided to go to the courthouse with my 8 years old. What is the deal here?? ask the officer at the court house. Kids are not allowed here!!! They send me and my son to another officer:you need to come back next week after you drop your son out to school! Great!! yesterday was the big day! I had to wait all day to tell the judge my story. The judge did not grant it!! Needed to stay! 5:00pm, I kept looking at my watch, who is going to pick up my son from school, I kept thinking to myself. I needed to do something! I asked to be able to talk to the judge again. Explain AGAIN, my situation, YES, I was dismissed!!
I did not believe ways that some judges treat moms with young children!!! I found this website: http://www.familyfriendlyjuryduty.org that provides many great informations. Ask for changes! Does your State has Family Friendly Jury Duty, find out and make a difference!
