The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) made a ruling in 2006 that the morning-after pill could not be administered by women younger than 18 years old. On Monday, March 23rd, a federal judge ordered the FDA to reconsider that decision.
The judge instructed the FDA to make Plan B available to girls 17 years old within 30 days. The FDA, the judge said, made the 2006 decision from a political standpoint and reasoning. The Washington Post published a complete article this morning about the judge's ruling and you can read it here:
