It's the middle of the night, I'm usually giving it a good snooze about now. But tomorrow I am interviewing a PR woman to work on my five city The Family Coach Method tour because over 30 schools have expressed interest in my giving a free talk on everything from Defying Disobedience to The Caveman and The Thinker and just managing the dates has become a fun! FT job! So, I am up late making a template describing the roles and responsibilities.

This brings me to my most important role and responsibility MOM. As a matter of habit, even though it's 2 am, I checked my email and low and behold, Megan Calhoun was in my in-box in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. She introduced me to onehourparties.com. Thank you Megan! You are my hero!

Laughing aloud allowed! When you hear this one.
Today at gymnastics my eldest, Olivia, almost 11 going on 17, sauntered up to me, "Mom, I'm having a party Friday Night." "What for," I asked. "Wizards of Waverly Place Premiere," Olivia retorted. (As in, Mom, it's the biggest thing, but since you are a parenting writer, you wouldn't know that.)

"How many girls will be coming over O?" I ask. "You know this is the kind of thing we ask Mom about," I think, no I say, no both (cause this means time and money).

I'll cut to the chase, five 10-year-olds and two (token, 'cause her sister piped up like she should) 8-year-olds will be spending the night Friday for the Wizards of Waverly Place Premier.

Since I now know about One HourParties, based on the testimonials, I am ordering the sundae party as well as the breakfast in the am. It will cost me about $100.00, less than I would have spent killing myself to make this happen.

The girls will feel like teens (is that a good thing, what will we do with them then?) and Olivia, even though she's the biggest 10 year-old leader I know, earned this self-created "party" with loving behavior, good grades and compassion for those who have less or are left out (rationalization but true).

So my plan is: Call and email Onehourparties to learn about set-up etc, order some great food, and review our family values before her friends come over so that Livi knows that what you give in life, you get back, in sundaes.

Goodnight Megan and thank you!

Sounds great , please let me know how you like it. I am a DIY gal but see the value in paying someone else if they can do it better for less!

What a great idea and a great way for you to not stress about a party. (Bet you are a pretty popular mom!)
