twitter moms: the influential moms network

My teenager is reveling in a school delay on what would be her first day back to school after holiday break. She is almost 17, a great kid, but finds her junior year to be such a struggle. I have seen the look in her eyes, and I wish that I could waive a wand, and make it all vanish. As Moms we want that for our children, and easier ride than the one we might have experienced. Yet when we look back at the life lessons that have taught us the most, they were not the easy things but the ones that we found to be a big stretch. I try to think of things that ease her stress.
School delay works for this morning, as she climbs back to bed with a smile.

Just hosted a lovely evening of some seriously talented writing friends. Imagine history coming alive for a french family taking a train ride, with many kids in tow, to a chance meeting between an older Anglo man, and a young phillipino woman. Then move on to a mom who uses satire to describe her daily manuervers as a mom on the go with all males in her homestead. Next a story of a failed marriage depicted in decades instead of day by day. All the writing is enough to take your breath away. Wow my head is realing with story ideas, and places I have been without having to leave home to journey where I might never have been.
