Yesterday, my husband and I decided to go out after his V.A. appointment , A Dinner and Movie.

While he was at the hospital, my job was to see what time the movie was going to be showing , of the one which he wanted to see. Twilight .
A shock to me that he even wanted to see that. Since it was labeled a romantic movie. Yet, I wasn't going to question it since there have been many movies that I have gone to , ones that he wanted to see , that I had wished I hadn't gone to . And I heard good things about it and I didn't mind going.

Well, the local theater didn't have the showing of Twilight .
I printed out the list of the movies that were showing , so when he finally returned home I would have it and be able to talk over the one we would see.

There was a few on this list , I knew I didn't want to see. The Curious Cases of Benjamin Button , All the per-views of that movie , just didn't spark an interest for me ,along with the movie Valkyrie or Seven Pounds .

The rest of the list had , Bedtime Stories , The Day the Earth Stood Still , The Tale of Despereaux , Yes Man, The spirit And the one I really wanted to see. Marley and Me

So, when the hubby looked over the list, He said he would really like to see the movie , 'THE SPIRIT' .

Why , do you ask that I went along with it. decided to accept that movie. Well, I thought it was the New Movie of Clint Eastwood's new one. I know , I was way off. which it wasn't that movie. I don't know why I thought that was it , the name of his up coming movie , I just knew it was due out this week . "DUH"

But it wasn't until I got to the theater did I realize the mistake I had made. With ticket in hand. I thought, " Couldn't be to bad of a movie",
We were early about an hour.

Living miles to the closet est theater, we tend to leave early , making sure we can eat without rushing and our plans to stop at the dollar store to pick up the candies we like to snack on , instead of buying them there.
Yet we were still an hour early , We brought soda, decided at first we didn't need the popcorn , and walked to the nearest table. Which happened to be close to all those video games. Which we would end up playing one or two of.
We sat some more , staring at the Dipping Dots. It had pulled at me , at least to walk over to see how much one would cost.
If it wasn't for the three teenage girls at the next table eating their Dots , I doubt I would have never got up from my seat.

Wow! Three Dollars for a small bag of the Ice cream dots. Heck, I could buy a whole gallon of ice cream, for that price. On sale at least. Needless to , I walked away

We did end up going back up to the counter and bought the small popcorn. Which never made it into the theater seating area. Hubby and I sat reminiscing our younger years of going to the movies 75 cents for a movie, getting two movies and two Cartoons . That our parents giving us five dollars for the movies and walking away with change which include popcorn candy and soda .

7:15 showing , we were the first in the theater. In fact we were the only couple , for while anyway. We joked about changing seats since we had the show all to ourselves. When another , Younger Couple walked it. In the end there would be a total of 8 of us.

The per-view of the movies to come next year, Made me sick. All horror , blood sicking stuff. Even the hubby didn't care for, and he loves scary movies. Another Chain saw movie. Another Freddy movie. How many can you make of these , I ask you ?

Finally , the movie. It was slow, very slow going. It stated it was made from a Marvel comic strip. I never read or seen one called Spirit. Maybe it was before my time.

About 30 minutes into the movie, the film would be out of the screen , Half of it was being seen on the ceiling. We sat there for awhile watching, none of us getting up to tell someone of this problem, until one young men finally made the move and went to speak to someone.
It would be fixed for a moment, only to go right back to being viewed off the ceiling. This would happen about 5 times through the movie .

Which I have to say , I didn't care attitude . I was falling asleep . It was so boring. A waste of our 8.50 .

At one point I was going to suggest to my husband that we could go next door and watch that movie , which happened to 'the day the earth stood still' but I figured we had missed most of it .

The last Snooze I was awaken by an employee who would end up giving everyone a free pass for another day show with apologizes .

So, that was the our night out. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. Hope I have helped some of my Red hat ladies from sleeping at the movies. ;0)
