Thanks for becoming my TM friend. "What's the best thing to happen to me today?" It is 6:00 a.m est. right now .... so that I am breathing is a pretty good thing. :) The best thing though is that in about 5 minutes I will going to wake up my six yr. old son and hear him say "I love you" as I've been blessed to hear him say first thing every morning since starting kindergarten. Life IS good!
Hi Ann, finally have a chance to write back to you. I've been unschooling for about 3 years now. I only have 1 son but he keeps me so busy, talking and asking questions all the time, that I don't know how I'd keep up with more children! And the best thing that happened today? I'm afraid my answer is always the same: my son is the best thing, every day! :-)
Thanks for becoming my TM friend. Best thing today ... let's see. I found out that my uncle was in the hospital BUT he is doing well; which is good news! He'll probably get a pace maker Tuesday. Other than that phone call, the day was uneventful and calm. How about you? What was the best thing that happened to you today? Take care.
best thing that happened today? Just got off a call with a woman in Calif. that I am working with to bring a girl from Egypt to the States. The girl has the same condition as my youngest son. Her first surgery is scheduled June 12, 2009 in Philly at Shriners.
PS--five kids? So there is hope that I can survive three wild little boys? Wish I could have had more. But not sure we would have kept up with anymore.
Thanks so much for commenting on the blog. I am now trying to divide my time between blogging, twitter and facebook. In between all the mom duties and working full time.
It sounds like your life is almost as busy as mine. I actually have a couple of companies that I am trying to focus on right now.
I am currently enjoying my Jerky Direct business. The jerky is low-cost and all natural with no preservatives. I like that I can eat it and not get a migraine from the junk that isn't there. At $14/month it is affordable on any budget. That includes shipping. My husbands' website address is: http://www.altryon.jerkydirect.com. Check it out and let me know what you think.
My husband and I are considering getting involved with another company that our friend Melanie recently introduced us too. She also has a lot of experience in network marketing and has not had a great deal of success either. She is working with a professional who has had tremendous success in a couple of other companies. He knows how to train people in network marketing, not just sponsor people like crazy and leave them to their own devices of trial and error. I am looking forward to getting better acquainted with him.
I do agree with you that any company that you get involved with has to have a consumable product and a lucrative marketing plan.
I will keep you posted on my research in the coming weeks. How long have involved with your current company? Have you had any luck marketing your products on the internet?
My youngest son just turned 15 yesterday. My oldest son is now serving a two year mission for our church in Las Vegas. He just arrived there on Tuesday. He is 21. My middle son is 19 and is preparing to follow in my oldest sons' footsteps. (Literally).
I have been in network marketing a LONG time. To be honest, I have not been as successful with it as I would have liked. I am stubborn. I will keep on persisting until I get it right.
I am now working with a good friend and mentor. Doing network marketing is one thing. Know HOW TO DO IT is another. For me, that has been the missing link in most of the programs that I have been involved with. Most companies do not teach someone how to network, they just tell them to do it. Most do not have an easily duplicatable system in place. Or their marketing plans on pay the highest percentage of their bonuses to the people who are recruiting like crazy without any real consideration of helping them to build an organization that will last through the long haul and rewarding them accordingly. Just like every good story has a beginning, a middle and an end; a good network marketing company should have a marketing plan that rewards its' distributors' at the beginning, to get them motivated, in the middle to keep them motivated and at the end so that they can retire comfortably at that point if they wish while their organization continues to grow.
How long have you been with your current company? And how long did it take you to build an organization that put you where you wanted to be financially? Or are you there yet?
I thought that I had added a blog post but I discoverd that it had been added onto my home page. I have yet to discover how to to that. I am learning all these things slowly. My partner Jonathan works in the computer industry and he has done all the work behind the scenes on my blog and website. I would very much value your opinon please take a look the details are on my home page.
Blessings Helen
Thanks Ann I will look for you on facebook I am not very active either as I am just learning about how it all works as I am doing on Twittermoms as well. Look forward to speaking with you soon. I have lived in Perth before I still have some friends there but alas no family. I have a sister who lives in the UK with two children and a sister who lives in New York Sagharbour with two children. My parents live in Edinburgh Scotland and I I have three relatives in Australia that I am close to and that is an Aunt + Uncle and a cousin who has just returned from a trip around Europe. His sister still lives in Edinburgh.
Thanks for the comment. I have definitely found that the best remedies are the simplest ones. You won't find very many physicians, if any that will recommend lemon juice and honey to get over colds and the flu.
You are right about lemon juice being a natural immunity fighter. Apple cider vinegar also has similar benefits, but I have not been able to stomach taking it for any length of time.
My youngest son will love the picture of your kitty. I am going to show it to him when he gets home.
Hi Ann I have not looked at twitter for a few days so have only just seen your message. I am looking forward to the trip it is only 4 months away now. Not long to go. If you find your freinds agian please let me know which part of Perth they are in. If they are still there. Are you on facebooK?
HI Ann, glad to meet you! Love your photos!! My boy, Dev fenced for a while. I think we still have his gear upstairs.
Tell me about your ginger beer...how do you make it?
I was wondering if you would ask. My family doesn't get sick very often either. We try to eat right most of the time. (Although, occasionally, we have been known to indulge in too many sweets, especially birthday parties and holidays). However, it is cold and flu season in Ohio right now and most of my friends are sick, and I get exposed to their illnesses regularly. About a year ago, I developed 2 cases of pneumonia. I haven't been that sick since I was 18. I have several natural remedy books in my library that I purchased at our local library book sales. After I started taking the following remedy, I haven't been sick since. I recovered completely from the pneumonia within 4 days.
The remedy is as follows: 1 cup of warm water, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey. The honey is a natural anti-biotic and kills the bacteria that is causing the illness. The lemon juice acts as a flushing agent to remove the bacteria out of your system. Usually, I drink 1 cup a day as a preventative remedy. When I am sick or have been exposed to illness, I have drank up to 4 cups in one day.
Now when my family feels like they are coming down with something, this is their first line of defense. A friend of ours who is from a large family where illness spreads faster than a wild fire, told us that his mother used to make him and his siblings drink this every morning before going to school and they were seldom sick when he was growing up. I would say that it is definitely worth a try.
Thanks for the welcome, Ann. You asked me what is the best thing that has happened today. I got a really restful sleep last night, awoke to a beautiful sunny day, went for a great walk, then meditated for 40 min. without even trying (went really deep today), I've eaten wonderful healthy food, and had a really productive day. Tonight I will enjoy coaching a client! Everything about my day has been wonderful! How about you?
They love to experiment and make things up (cooking).
That's great that you make candles with your daughter. Do you sell on etsy? You'll have to send a link...I love candles.
Sounds like you all are very outdoorsy. I love outdoors, but my older girl doesn't much like hiking, don't know why....so we just take short walks in the neighborhood mostly. But, we do all enjoy camping very much. My little one loves being outside. So, it's a bit of dilemma sometimes to make everyone happy!
Since it's a homeschool troop and varied ages (Daisys age 5/6 to Jrs age 10/12) we do lots of different things. Field trips to nature preserves, small businesses, service projects-we just made a bunch of seed balls for regrowth to the fire-affected areas, and they want to go to an animal shelter and help out and bring supplies). It's great that we can do things during the day when other kids are in school. Probably not much different than other troops other than the times that we meet.
I just blogged about our troop recently....if you're interested. http://2nd2theright.blogspot.com/
Thank you for the invite. I am a natural health fanatic! I love using alternative remedies for common illnesses. Especially with cold and flu season upon us. Ask me about my remedy for getting over colds quickly.

The best thing that happened to me today? Hmmm...maybe that my old college roommate contacted me via Facebook? HA!
