I keep getting Josh Groban the singer confused with John Grogan the writer and dog owner! But that's another story. The important thing I need to acknowledge is that Grogan blogs! I didn't read closely enough to get that? I am sorry! I'm a skimmer. I'm reading Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf (a thoughtful Christmas gift from a very artistic friend who never ceases to amaze me) and I don't skim that--in fact, I keep having to re-read sections. But when I get online, I find I only quasi-read. Is that just me?

Fabulous book idea Julie!!! I'm a great fan and supporter of Jane Goodall. And also agree with you on the whole birthday/Christmas gift craziness. A couple of times for my kids birthdays I have asked people to bring books to donate to a local cause in lieu of gifts. One year we took them to the women's shelter, another to a local hospital that gives books to every new mom. I'm going to add this to my blog too!! THANKS!
