My real name is Jill, but I got mad at my mom when I was 6, because she had given me a "boring" name that couldn't be whittled down into a cool nickname--Kristine to Krissy, for example. Anyway, she suggested I change the spelling and thought it would appease me for the hour or so. 32 years later I am still calling myself Jyl. Be careful what you suggest to your children, right??? LOL
