Oh, what a WONDEFUL name for your garden! I love it! Golden Wishes Garden. Thank you for letting me know. I LOVE the meaning you have behind that.
Can you get cool pics of your garden onto that blog, mayhaps? And some cool youtube 'how to's?
From what I understand, the red peppers are ripe, and the most healthful stage to be consumed.
I don't do green anymore.
I had the mini-basil in mind for kitchen window. The gardener guy said they're very popular in Europe, and as you say, for small areas there.
We love Thai basil (see our pics at www.annduncan.com), to put it mildly! We spent 13 yrs in northeast Thailand and it 'ruined' our taste :) We do a lot of Thai cooking. Have never heard of cinnamon basil, will have to ck that out.
Still thinking on a name for our garden. Perhaps something like Pak Dee. Literally, "Vegetable Good".
Pak would be said sort of like 'pock'.
Very full day, very good day. Ready to totally wind down, super early, for the night.
Can't wait to see what you might come up for a name for your garden :) Drawing a blank for mine so far. Want something that the neighbors could feel good about, too.
Your neighbor garden situation sounds so perfect! I roshk you. (that's some middle-east term for 'envy' that actually means, 'I'm happy for you having that ______ and I want one, too!')
Loved visiting the Seattle area. My beloved stepmom is on Orcas Is. Into gardening. Is a holistic nutritionist, as is my 3rd child. I learn so much from them both.
Don't know what an anaheim pepper is, will have to look that up. I've been very happy with my dehydrated chard stalks. You're influencing me to look up basil, too, does it need full sun? Would love to put in a goodly batch, not sure about enough room in the full sun section, tho.
Oh, I was thrilled yesterday when I stopped by the Farmers Mkt and learned about mini-basil. John, a well-known gardener here told me he was swamped with orders last year and has a whole lot of it ready for this year. His prices are great and he's got such wonderful stuff.
Too late for me to be up, maybe not even making sense on here, signing off!
Wow, you really are a long-stooping gardener, with all that!!! I admire you for growing that huge variety. I just watched a cool youtube last night and thought of you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyVNAgrbQz4
I've been using a dehydrator, seems to take SO much to produce SO little. Putting it in jars. Figure best to have it on hand. That pesto sounds wonderful!!! You are inspiring me to consider trying that. How much basil would you need to put up a huge batch? I like huge batches that last and last :)
Does your garden have a name? I'm thinking of one for mine. It looks like it might be turning into a community project, shared, at any rate, with at least a couple of other neighbors. I'm promoting it! Want to see as many as possible get started to some degree.
You're welcome :) Yeah, I love that www.pathtofreedom.com site. Just getting started on gardening, composting. Experimenting with food storage. Have a lot to learn. And you?
Welcome to Gardening Moms. What kind of art are you into? Have you seen the Freedom Garden challenge yet?at www.PathToFreedom.com

HI Hun!
I write poetry! My type of poetry writing isn't for everyone, but I have had a couple of my poems published - so I guess they can't be all that bad! LOL
