VTech's "Get Your Kids to Love Reading" Twitter Party: Join Us & Win Prizes!

Are your kids just starting to read? Do they love it or is it like pulling teeth to get them to sit down with a book? Do you have tips to share with other moms or are you looking for some advice?

If this sounds like you then we would love you to join us on September 17 at 5 p.m. PST for the next TwitterMoms Twitter Party, with VTech, the leader in age-appropriate learning products, expert in reading Dr. Libby and Pilar Clark, the VTech Mom, to get expert advice, share tips, enjoy stories and win a few prizes while you’re there. Use #vtechtoys.

Here's how it works...The VTech Twitter Moms group will get together for a Q&A on child development, reading education and active play on September 17th at 5:00 p.m. PT. We will share our stories and tips for raising our kids to be better readers and get a chance to talk with early childhood and elementary reading expert, Dr. Deborah Sharp Libby, Ph.D and our own VTech Mom, Pilar Clark (You can find her at twitter.com/vtechtoys and www.facebook.com/vtechtoys)
Not to mention, you’ll have some great chances to win a free VTech Bugsby Reading System or their fantastic new Jungle Gym products, through some fun trivia games and participation in our discussions.

If you are interested in being the first to win one of the few giveaways happening during the Twitter Party (and you haven’t won something w/ the VTech TwitterMoms program yet), make sure to enter the Bugsby’s Great Adventure contest with your child(ren) before the party – and be the first to post a link to your child’s story on Twitter when the party starts.

So, two things you MUST do to make the event work for everyone:

2. To make comments and/or replies you must include #vtechtoys somewhere in your update on Twitter. This is the only way your comment can be seen by the group at the event.

About Deborah Sharp Libby, Ph.D. A leading expert in reading, Dr. Libby graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a Doctorate in Reading, Language Arts and Children's Literature. She has her Masters in Reading, a Reading Specialist Certificate and a Bachelors degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from The Ohio State University. While working in higher education for 17 years, Dr. Libby taught elementary education courses at The University of Pittsburgh and both undergraduate and graduate courses in topics such as early childhood and elementary reading, language arts and children's literature at Slippery Rock University. Dr. Libby has worked as an elementary teacher, and as a freelance writer creating teaching guides to accompany reading and science material for elementary classrooms. Currently living outside of Pittsburgh with her husband and three daughters, she works with students in literature groups focusing on comprehension skills and conducts workshops for teachers.
